| Sparks! Inc. was founded by Hopkinton residents Robin Batchelder and Nancy Barton. Both Robin and Nancy have their Masters Degrees in Fine Arts and both have been teaching for over 20 years. Our goal in art instruction is to help children develop confidence and individuality by combining practical art skills with each child’s own intuitive creative ability. By refining their competence in observation and learning to express themselves through various media, the students develop their own unique and personal sense of artistic expression. Both Robin and Nancy believe that the environment in the classroom should be one where ideas are welcomed and individual attention is always available. That is why at Sparks!, our class sizes are limited to a maximum of ten students with two instructors. Our goal is to encourage that “spark” of creativity that is within each child to grow in a safe and positive environment! |
| Spring 2010 Art Workshops New! For Adults Healing "H"Arts: Nurturing our minds and our creativity Thursdays, April 29th – May 27th Time: 9 – 11 AM Fee: $125 [includes all materials] Art is a great vehicle to nourish ones spirit. Many of us have been touched by illness in our lives, through a family member, close friend, or even ourselves. Both Nancy and Robin are breast cancer survivors and have found art to be an integral part of their healing process. In this class we will create collages that will integrate inspirational quotes and healing affirmations. We will introduce you to several watercolor techniques and incorporate them into our multi-media collage. This is a great opportunity to have fun with beautiful materials and textures and create one- of-a- kind pieces to become part of the healing process. No previous art experience necessary.
